Services

Sessions are 50 minutes and cost £60.00. I can offer short or long-term therapy depending on your needs. I offer a free 15-20 minute consultation to answer any questions you have about counselling or the way I work. This also gives us the opportunity to get to know each other a bit before you decide if you’d like to start your counselling with me.

Anxiety

The primary symptoms of anxiety, also referred to as generalised anxiety disorder (GAD), include intense feelings of stress or worry that impact your daily life and are hard to manage. This is common in mental health issues, during menopause, or after going through distressing experiences. Other forms of anxiety can trigger sudden panic attacks (panic disorder) or create an overwhelming fear of specific things (phobias).

Intense worry and panic attacks may be accompanied by physical signs including sleeplessness, palpitations, dizziness and irritability.

Therapy and breathwork can help with anxiety by exploring the cause of your feelings and discovering ways of coping with situations as they occur.

Work Related Stress

Many people spend a significant amount of their adult life at work. It can provide a sense of identity, structure and fulfilment, all while helping you manage daily finances. However, it can also bring about stress, frustration, health challenges and low self-esteem, and in some cases, even lead to burnout.

Therapy can help you to understand why you feel stressed and explore strategies that could help you learn how to cope with work-related stress.

Trauma

There aren’t any rules on what can be considered traumatic; it really depends on how you respond to those experiences. Trauma is personal , and others can’t truly understand how you feel about your own experiences or whether they’re traumatic for you. You might share similar situations with someone else but be affected in different ways or for longer.

Traumatic events may include times where you felt, or still feel, scared, threatened, humiliated or powerless.

I adopt a trauma informed approach in therapy, which means I recognise the nature of trauma and its effects on people’s lives. Healing from trauma can be a gradual journey, so our time together may be longer. I’ll create a safe space for you to explore challenging feelings and experiences. This can be particularly helpful if you’re finding it hard to process your trauma or if you want to discuss your experiences in a safe, confidential setting.

Depression

Depression is a common mental health problem so you are not alone. It affects people in different ways and can cause a wide variety of symptoms.

You may experience lasting feelings of unhappiness and hopelessness, losing interest in the things you used to enjoy and feeling irritable or tearful. Many people with depression also experience symptoms of anxiety.

Therapy can help with depression in many ways including helping you to discover and explore the cause of your depression, acknowledge your feelings, accept them and regain your self-confidence.

Low Self-Esteem or Confidence

If you struggle with low self-esteem, you might find yourself seeing life in a negative light, feeling hopeless or that things are pointless. You may feel worthless and believe others are better than you. It can be tough to express your true feelings or assert yourself, which might lead you to feel taken advantage of or treated poorly.

Therapy can be a safe way to understand and explore these feelings and help you shift your perspective on yourself and those around you.

Relationships (for individuals)

Relationships play a crucial role in our lives; positive connections can bring happiness, fulfilment and a sense of belonging. However, when relationships become challenging, they can lead to stress, anxiety and feelings of isolation.

We can invest a great deal of time and energy trying to navigate the obstacles that come from relationship issues, which can take away from the enjoyment we could have with family, friends and colleagues.

Therapy can improve the way you relate to those around you and allow you to break free from old patterns of behaviour. I can offer a supportive and non-judgemental space to help you identify any challenges you may face in your relationships and find a way to navigate those difficulties. This can include relationships with partners, family members and colleagues.
